A Pear

I call them “Hidden Cyanotypes,” uncomfortable, very uncomfortable images, photographs I took but can look at, memories hard to digest, hidden by an ordinary, simple, lightly changing reality…
Veiled here is the farewell, the loved one fading, the last petal of the rose withering away….
The weary life that wants to leave….
But you will not see it, it is not possible to feed your eyes, in front of you only a pear remains….
As there our digital realities where everything is masked, let us remember that every living being is composed of many facets, most of them concealed by a beautiful smile.

And here resides another reminder of the kind you leave in the drawer you don’t open, the one padlocked shut that you don’t know everything inside.
We still talk about lack, after all, in the West decay and death are still taboo, but there is more, religious ideologies that talk about salvation prevail, so you believe that after all the miracle can happen and you don’t accept the reality…we all die, even those you would like to make immortal…but maybe there is some long life left in this paper cutout
Long life to artichokes.

The Apple

The Apple is the fruit with the most stable and sure presence, if you enter a place where they sell fruit the apple you will always find it, in any season and at any time, the apple is always there, it is a certainty! And even the memory hidden inside the apple gives presence, but spitefully it lacks an ‘identity of its own, it merely follows orders, it becomes an extension of something else, it becomes nothingness….
And nesce a different mourning, that of a new awareness that lets die that certain but piloted and empty presence. Letting go…

By now it is clear that this little project is about loss, maybe you know during life you have to learn how to lose things well…people. Sometimes they leave this world and sometimes they leave us while continuing to exist….
They go their separate ways and maybe we go our separate ways as well….
Then there are people who when they move away hurt more than others, the atoms that form us feel like a part of them is being torn off, the same flesh…the same blood….
So we stand under the trees and talk to them…accepting and waiting, just that.

“Strawberry”

Talking about her still hurts a little bit, it’s been a few years and her place is still empty, you know when you grow up with a person and the bond becomes strong, when you understand each other on the fly and complement each other? She then chose, she chose to make a gesture, an extreme gesture, which will never be digested by those who loved her. She chose for herself, I accept that, but I will probably miss her forever….
